There’s something truly special about the arrival of spring – the chirping of birds, the vibrant blooms, and the promise of new beginnings. What better way to celebrate this season of renewal than by crafting a delightful piece of decor that brings the outdoors inside?

Gather your materials

  • Wooden birdhouse wall decor
  • Acrylic paints in your favorite springtime hues
  • Paintbrushes in various sizes
  • Make up sponges
  • Painter’s tape (optional, for creating clean lines & making a tape board)
  • A palette or disposable plate for mixing paints
  • Water cup for rinsing brushes
  • Glue
  • Your imagination and creative spirit! 🌟

Now, let’s dive into the creative process:

Prepare your workspace by laying down some newspaper or a protective covering.

Take your wooden birdhouse wall decor and envision the design you’d like to create. Perhaps you’re inspired by colorful garden flowers, cheerful songbirds, or whimsical patterns – let your imagination soar!

Create a tape board and stick small pieces to it for ease of painting. Learn how to create a tape board on my You Tube channel.

Break Out the Paint

Start by painting the base coat onto your birdhouse using a large paintbrush. This will serve as the background for your design. Choose a light, neutral color to complement your springtime theme. Paint from the center toward the edges to avoid getting paint onto the edges. You may leave certain portions unpainted if they will have wooden pieces glued on top.

While the base is drying move on the roof/ base pieces. Use a small flat brush to paint every other space your desired colors if desired. I chose to alternate black and white. If you do not have a steady hand you may use painters tape to tape off these spaces for crisp lines.

*In the video you will note that I alternate back and forth between painting the base yellow and the white on the roof and allowing to dry and then doing second coats for good coverage of these light colors.

After painting the black spaces on the roof and base, I painted the letters using a makeup sponge and dabbing on the paint.

Break out the COLOR in the next step and start painting the leaves, flower and bird.

Once the smaller pieces are dry, add little details like eye and beak to bird. You may also wish to touch up any pieces or add a second coat to any pieces that might need it.

Assembling your Artwork

After allowing all of the paint to dry completely start assembling your Home Tweet Home wall hanger by inserting the hole and adhering the word “Tweet” on top with glue to help hold all the pieces in place. The etched lines will help with placement.

Continue assembling your kit by using the etched guidelines to assist with placement. Once all pieces are adhered with glue thread twine or ribbon through the holes at top to make a hanger.

Allow your masterpiece to dry completely before hanging it up in your home. Once it’s ready, step back and admire your handiwork – you’ve just crafted a one-of-a-kind piece of springtime decor that’s sure to brighten any room!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your paints and let’s get crafting! 🖌️✨ Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a beginner looking to explore your creative side, painting our “Home Tweet Home” birdhouse wall decor is the perfect way to welcome spring with open arms. Happy crafting, my friends! 🌷🎨
