You’ll learn how to attach ornaments on a wreath wire frame to make a Christmas ball wreath. This Christmas ball wreath DIY is the perfect addition to your decor. I can’t believe how easy this DIY Christmas ornament wreath was to figure out.

Supplies Needed for an Ornament Wreath

14” Wire Wreath Frame

Tube of Shatterproof Ornaments

Florist Wire – I used 26 gauge because that was what I had on hand.

Ribbon – I used 3 types but that isn’t necessary.

Instructions for an Ornament Wreath

Cut a piece of florist wire 25-30 inches long. This will end up being too long but it is much better to be too long than too short.

Tie one end of the florist wire around one of the brace supports on the wire wreath frame.

Tying wire onto wreath frame

Thread the ornaments onto the florist wire. Continue threading until all ornaments are on the wreath. I found that it was easier to do this with the wreath form on the floor and then pick up the string of ornaments and wreath form when I was ready to continue.

Loosely lay the ornament string around the wreath frame, readjusting the ornaments until you are happy with the spacing.

Laying out ornaments on a wreath frame

Use pipe cleaners or additional pieces of wire to secure the ornaments wire to the wreath frame every few inches.

Attaching wire to wreath frame in additional locations

Hold up the wreath and make sure no ornaments move around too much. If they do, add some additional wire attachments.

Make a bow for your wreath and use hot glue or wire to attach it to the location you want.

Making a ribbon for a wreath

Use another piece of wire cut the appropriate length for hanging your wreath and attach it at the 11:00 and 1:00 positions on your wreath the way you want it to hang.

Stand back and enjoy your creation; and get ready for the complements.
